Welcome to my travel blog “Sarah Goes Outside.”

A friend of mine once jokingly told me that my Instagram should be called “Sarah went outside today.” I looked over my profile and… guilty. I posted things that make me happy: natural beauty, travel destinations, scenes from fun outings with friends.

I want this blog to be something similar. I am going to share my experiences, big and small, with travel in the U.S. and around the world. I am a big fan of finding adventure wherever you are, savoring moments and being open to spontaneity. I’ll share some tips and tricks as well as some random musings about travel, sustainability, and culture.

I am currently a solo female traveler and a digital nomad. I’m a pet sitter with Trusted Housesitters and Rover. I hope to visit lots of different destinations in the next year.

More throwbacks from my 2023 Zambia trip- we visited Mosi-oa-Tunya (Victoria Falls). It was truly awe-inspiring. The name means “the smoke that thunders” which is super apt because you can see the “smoke” for miles and it is LOUD. I loved visiting the falls and the local Livingstone museums to learn about the natural history of this place. Today, it needs protecting. The Senate voted to strip protections and allow the Twin Metals mine to move forward. But the Minnesota DNR can still stop the lease.
